
I have obtained my PhD in Economics from University Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense and then was teaching and research fellow at University Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne. In 2013-2016 I worked at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA Hamburg) on the EU NOPOOR project “Enhancing Knowledge for Renewed Policies Against Poverty” and then joined the Chair of Development Economics at the University of Passau where I got my Habilitation. Currently, I am Akademische Rätin a.Z. (similar to Assistant Professor) at the Univerity of Münster. I am also a CESifo Research Affiliate and a member of the Standing Field Committee on Development Economics of the German Economic Association (VfS).
My research interests include political economy, development studies, and environmental economics. In particular, I focus on the political economy of public policies, the impact of exogenouse shocks, such as natural disasters, globalization and digitalization, on economic and political outcomes in the Global South.
